Upgrade to Droid

I want to get into a Droid. I have one phone on my Family plan coming up for upgrade in July which is not a smartphone. I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade that phone at the upgrade price to a Droid and then deactivate it on that line and bring it up on my cell phone number. I would then activate the original phone from the line that was upgraded because it is still in use. Is it possible to do this with no repercussions.

I think I get what you are saying. In short yes you can do that. You won't need to deactivate or anything if you just tell what you want to do they can set up the droid on any line you choose, even If it's not the line that is due for the upgrade.
