Upgrade to Pixel 5?

I didn't think of keepping a p3 or an original around, just to keep the hi res backup.... but that might just be the answer to getting a new phone

I am still using a Pixel 2, making it the phone I have had the longest ever in my life (beating the record of my Nokia 2110i, showing my age there...), and I'm still fairly happy with it. It is starting to show its age however (especially the battery, which now struggles to get me through the day on a single charge). The Pixel 5 is actually just what I was hoping for: not a ridiculous price, same size as my Pixel 2 (but larger screen) & incremental improvements here and there (including bigger battery!).

I also like that Google has gone back to the fingerprint reader, if for no other reason that as an 'old dog' I don't have to adjust my muscle memory as much to the new phone.

Pre-order made for the Pixel 5.

I should add my partner is also still sporting his Pixel 2 as well and we are upgrading to Pixel 5 together. He can't seem not to crack his screen so maybe gorilla glass 6 will help with that, but I wouldn't count on it.

Annoyingly no white option this time round. I have the black colour and he has white, we try to keep that colour division going across a lot of our products, all the way down to our electric toothbrushes.
