Upgraded to Marshmallow and can't communicate with Google

Hi all,

I upgraded my Nexus7 2013 LTE to Razorg. But after installing the factory image, the set up of the tablet ran into an issue. After setting up my WiFi, it was not able to connect to Google servers so I could not finish the set up of the device.

After creating a manual account, the tablet seems to work (browser, youtube etc) but I can not link it to my gmail account or anything else google.

Thoughts of how to resolve this issue?

Thanks

'Razorg' is the internal name for your tablet's model, not the Android version. All images you download for your tablet will have that in part of the filename.

When you flashed the image, did you use a method that allowed you to preserve your data and settings, or did you do a clean install? Every now and then, remnants from a previous install cause unexpected blips in the new.

I would first re-download and re-flash the newest image (MRA58V, as of now). Maybe something got corrupted somewhere.

You could try removing your Google account (from Settings... Accounts..) and then adding it again.
If that's no joy, try resetting your app preferences (in Settings.. Apps.. top right, 3 dots...).
Still not working? Try going in to your apps individually (Settings... Apps... All...) and clear the data from every Google app on that list.

Good luck x

Hi,

Yes, I flashed with MRA58V as a clean install. I will attempt to re-flash it again. If I run into the same issue, I will try some of the things you mention.
Its puzzling to me that all default apps of the tablet seem to be working except for its ability to communicate with Google.
