I was wounding if any of you could tell me how hard it is to upgrade the RAZR's battery to make it like the Max and how expensive is it? I really need the battery life of the Max but upgraded to soon :(

I'd say that would probably void the warranty also though wouldn't it?

I just sent my Razr in for the conversion. Despite the cost and the voiding of the warranty, I'm doing it because I'm a power user and the Razr battery was just not cutting it. I was charging several times a day.

I at least got my Razr at a steep discount from Amazon Wireless, so the total amount I'll spend on phone + conversion will be around $200. Still not bad for a Maxx.

I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Please do. I'm in the same boat and wouldn't mind taking the chance if it is worth it. My biggest fear is sending my phone away!!!!

I hear ya. If I didn't have a second smartphone through work, I probably couldn't pull this off.

What really makes me laugh is that Verizon is charging $200 more for the Maxx under contract than the standard Razr. The ONLY difference is the battery, and there is no way the battery in the Maxx cost $200 more than the standard battery. Maybe $10, but not $200. These phone companies get a bad rap for many valid reasons. This is one of them.

It's not just about raw costs. $100 of the price difference is the discounting of the Razr in order to prune inventory. Also, the Razr has been around longer so it's into the normal discount cycle. The Maxx will also drop $100 in the next few months as they ready the next round of new phones and they will eventually virtually give it away.

It took about a week through cellphonerepairshop, but my Razr has now been maxximized with the bigger battery. I can finally last a full day on one charge!

Any complaints on the workmanship that was done?

Not at all. Looks flawless to me. I'll try to get some pics up later. They do offer a 60 day warranty on their work, so I'll be testing everything feverishly for the next couple of months. So far, so good though.

I am waiting for cellphone-repair-shop to get my full kit in so I can be MAXXED out as well. It'll be nice not to have to worry about screen brightness and 4G eating battery as much.

Is this just a kit that adds the maxx back plate and battery? And how much is it? I'm tired of not making it a full day on 4g with submoderate use

Alot of the problems with our phones is what is running. I have alot of bloat (I.E. BOG player, slacker radio, etc.) all is added to the auto end list but it still runs.

Facebook is the most horrible app. When I unlock my phone, it takes a few minutes for the widgets to appear. When I look at the task mgr, facefook is using ram.
