Upgrading to the Fold 4 if rumors are true?

Absolutely. Bloody. Crazy.
Matter of opinion. I have my opinion and nobody else's matter, yours doesn't either. Why do people need do criticize what others have I'll buy this expensive fold device over a iPhone any day, that's my opinion and it shouldn't matter to others what my opinion is. People buying a fold device are buying it for fold, not camera gimmicks.

Durability will be the same. The s22 ultra was desperation out of Samsung because they tried to force folding phones on Note users and it backfired on them.

Let's be realistic about stuff here. Polymers don't exist yet that are needed to get the folds display to an acceptable level of durability. They need to improve quality control of the displays because all the people who have there phones for a few days and it cracks is from micro scratches on the inside of the display from the manufacturing process. That's why they're going out of their way to deny warranty claims. The phone line has been nothing but away for Samsung to hemorrhage money.

I wasn't criticizing someone's choice of phone. But rather critiquing buying a mega expensive phone like the S22 Ultra and then dump that only a few months later to get the latest fold phone.

Can we get back on track, that's fold 4 rumors. You can go to the S22 pages and talk how great they are, or how your glad you didn't get a fold. I would like to see fold 4 rumors here.

True, but people on here do that all the time, throw in the apple releases and they do it 3 times a year. I took it you dogging on the fold, you were more saying upgrading all the time. That you are correct on. Sorry I jumped you, that was my bad. Bad day at work. I'm used to people dogging the fold and not understand it.

Samsung is not forcing the fold onto note users. The fold is replacing the note time slot and the note was replaced with the S22U. Smart move on Samsung, combine the S series and the Note as they were the same phone now days, the Spen being the difference. The note and S series can easily combine and open a slot to release new technology. Technology always changes and samsung made a good move doing that without dropping one, just combined them while introducing new technology.

But hey, I forget also, horses for courses. There's no way on God's green earth I would buy a phone like the S22 Ultra or iPhone 13 Pro Max and then dump it a few months later. But you know I forget also - it's not a crime. So let and let live I suppose.

I bought the fold 3 and also bought the s22U. Only reason I bought the S22U was because I was able to trade in a old S10+ and pay $300 for the S22U and use as a back up. It was worth $300 to me to upgrade my back up phone. I manage 10 lines and it's nice to have a great back up if needed. I would never have paid full price for that. I'm back to using the fold 3 and might upgrade to the fold 4 depending on upgrades. Dust resistance will get me.

Edit..I offered the S22U to my wife, but she's happy with her note 20U.

Don't get me wrong, if there is an exceptional circumstance in which I would buy something like the S22 Ultra and upgrade it in a year.

So for me for example, I'll probably let my contract for 2 years finish and get the S24 Ultra (assuming the same line). If it's still the same camera sensors with the 108 MP unit( I highly doubt it), and other minimal upgrades, then I'll keep it another year.

However......... let's for arguments sakes say that the S23 Ultra comes out with something of a major upgrade. For me, that would be something like graphene coated anodes on the battery. Something I've read about for the last couple of years that apparently Samsung is developing. A battery with 50% more capacity and recharges in 15 mins.

Something like that and yes, one year later I would upgrade. But that's an exceptional case.

I’ve been a phone nut since about 2013. Keyword: nut. I will always be interested in the latest and greatest and will want to experience that when possible so its par for the course for me to say get a Fold 3, then an S22U, then a Fold 4, and then an iPhone 14. The ones that I really like will be held onto. The ones that I don’t won’t.

I've backed down to once a year for the most part since they are getting more expensive. I haven't included the iPhones mostly because I don't want to learn it. If they get rid of the high trade INS I'll probably go to 2 years.

I'm the same, I'm always interested in new technology. I held off on the fold 1 for obvious reasons. I bought a fold 2 off Swappa to try it out, figured I could just resell it if I didn't like it. I'm now a fold user until there's a reason not to, I love the fold. If fold 4 has dust resistance I'm for it even though I'm not using the fold 3 any different then any other phone. I would welcome under screen camera on front screen also. I use my inside screen for video calling and it works just fine for what it's intended for, but improved cameras is welcome for those that want better.

Foldable phone?? I was never interested. And the S22 Ultra is supposed to have 4 years of updates? Not interested in the Folds so no, I wouldn't. I'm happy with my S22

If the fold could squeeze a 6000 mAh battery with integrated S pen and the cameras from the Ultra, I would be very interested!

Forget the fold 4. Apparently Samsung will release it's first rollable phone. That is way better than a folding phone. No crease, much thinner, much lighter.

I'm not interested in that. People are already nervous of the durability of the fold, can't imagine what they will think of the durability of the rolling phone. I want something that feels solid in my hands, the folds do. Hopefully the rolling phones will be another version, fold, flip, and roll.
