US Pure Nougat Is Finally Rolling Out!

Moto X Pure, of course.
I'm on the right forum, don't worry.

Almost 2 weeks since the roll-out began and still nothing... This is my back up phone so it doesn't have a SIM card in it on a regular basis. I've put my Verizon SIM in it a few times but still nothing. Since this update is coming right from Motorola, do I need to bother to put a SIM card in the phone or will it pull it off WiFi?

We know that only users with a Sprint or US Cellular (or one of their MVNO's) SIM installed are getting the update so far... No idea why, even with no SIM people are not getting it. You can install ANY Sprint or US Cellular SIM, active or not, and it will immediately offer the update to you after a reboot.

Many users are going to Walmart and buying a Sprint or Boost mobile SIM kit for $10, popping in the SIM and downloading the update.

Didn't somebody here get it on Verizon?
There have been a couple reports of Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T users getting the update, but VERY sparcely... like 1 of those to 100 on Sprint getting it, but I don't think any of the users where here, XDA or Lenovo official support forums probably.

I custom ordered my pure before they went on sale. I have moved on to another phone (G5S+) because of declining battery life on the pure. I tried looking for updates over WIFI and got that my phone was up to date. I put an inactive Sprint SIMM in and searched for updates. The option to update came up right away. It's downloading now. Just a FYI if you have an old Sprint SIMM laying around.

Have you guys heard about this yet? https://arstechnica.com/information...l-leaves-wi-fi-traffic-open-to-eavesdropping/ between this and blueborne Motorola/Lenovo has REALLY screwed us big-time. It's been almost 11 MONTHS since we got a monthly security update..... it's absolutely ridiculous. I've been a huge fan of my MXPE, it's been a great phone, and still runs and looks like new, with no battery loss at all. But a phone's only as good as the company that supports it, so in this case my MXPE sucks.

I'm going to pick up a Sprint sim, upgrade my MXPE to 7.0, and sell it and pick up a pixel. I hate getting rid of a perfectly good working phone that I really like, just to spend more money on another one I don't even want, but it's becoming a necessity now to have a phone that is properly protected. In some ways a pixel will be a downgrade because I'm really going to miss Moto voice.... it was the next best thing to Cortana.

Oh well..... windows phone went under, Motorola/Lenovo is going down, and everyone's buying pixels to stay safe. Wish I could own the phone I liked that was well priced, instead of having to purchase the over priced phone I don't want but have to have :-(

I'm likely going to have an issue soon because my phone is used for both personal and business. My company uses Enterprise or an alternative so we have email, calendar and contacts sync'd on our phones. Our IT department head has informed everyone that you have to be running the latest system update on your phone for company security reasons or you're getting yourself a new phone. (Android or iPhone). Our phones are not provided for us, but we get a modest monthly stipend towards our monthly phone charge. So being at 7.0, I'm not sure I have the most recent "update". Guess I'll find out soon because those considered not to have the most recent system update are getting an email.

Put in n my old Sprint Sim and bingo got update. I also installed Action launcher and it feels like a new phone. Thanks to all!
