So my moto pure arrives today but I'm already going to send it back and await my recently ordered 5X and 6P. The 5 is for my wife and I'll be rocking the 6 come early November. This brings about my question... USB-C. I wanted to know if anyone has recommendations on places to pick up cables and turbo chargers apart from google itself. Amazon carries the cables, at $10 each, which seems very steep. I've checked a few other of my favorite cable places but so fare $10 seems like the going rate. Ideally I'd get a few more cables, a couple of car chargers (fast units) and a couple of plugs.

Anyone know of good sources?

Thanks!

For right now prices on usb -c accessories are going to fair same because of still early adoption Phase of usb-c. Android Central and Amazon are going to be your best bet for deals. In ended you will just have to shop around.

I usually buy from Amazon or monoprice. I haven't bought any new cable yet but try monoprice just in case if you haven't

Monoprice was the second place I checked after amazon, same price there ($10).

One question for those in the know, how does the quick charging work? I have several older HP USB adapters that output at 2A. Would those provide a nice fast charge using a USB-A to USB-C cable? Most chargers seem to be in the 1A rate and it was my understanding that the older cables could not handle more than around 1A anyway where as C can handle more. Or am I mistaken?

Just want to make sure whatever chargers I get work great. If I have to buy from google I guess I will, but after already committing to over $1300 (5X 32GB and 6P 128GB with warranty) I'd love to back off a little.

There are micro USB to C converters on eBay very cheap. I've ordered one for my Philips docking station until I can afford a Sonos.

OnePlus has a pretty good deal on cables at the moment. I picked up a few, though it looks like the longer one is out of stock now.

Thanks for the link, I'll keep an eye on those as a potential source once they come back in stock.

The One Plus cables are only certified for 2.4A rather than the 3A that the USB-C quick charging requires.

How do you know if a cable is certified for 2.4a or 3a? Is there anywhere that says that? I want to make sure my charging won't be hampered but whatever cables I buy. I don't care at all about data transfer as I'll do all of that over AC wireless, but charging does concern me.

I'm not sure what that even means as the cables are all designed to a spec for usb-c. I think the only 3A cables are likely C-to-C like what you'll get with Google's charger.

And realistically... 2.4A vs 3A isn't a huge deal unless you're really racing for that 15 minute charge before unplugging again. I'll never be in that scenario (at least I don't think so) but it's really nitpicking at that point.

the 1+ cables were $6 (I bought two with shipping for $15 total) so that's still a decent deal over what Amazon has for high quality cables at $12 each (google is $12.99, btw)

I found a 4 pack on amazon for $15. I can't tell what their amp rating is, but they are all A to C connectors so they would be perfect for the chargers we use at night when you don't need turbo. Still looking for a good price on the higher amperage models.
