I have all sorts of headphones including the IPhone connectors (name escapes me). But what I was thinking about even though wireless headphones are a lot better than they ever were before, would there still be a benefit to a USB-C headphone from a reputable manufacturer. Thoughts? Comments?

I guess it depends on how much you are willing to pay; and what do you consider "reputable"? Beyond the obvious like Bose, Beats, etc.

Also, unless you are an audiofile, I'm not sure if you would notice a difference in quality. I have the AKG BT50 over ear headphones as well as Bose SoundSport Wireless ear buds. Both are BT headphones and sound (to me) really good.

You could go to a store and try a "good" set of USB-C headphones with your phone and compare, that way you don't have to plop down a bunch of cash if you don't like them.

Right now you're talking about an operating system, and that now needs to interact with the hundreds of manufactured actual flawed by design audio services and youre leaving open anything from at least just another flawed sound setup to any manufacturer mixing potions that make it blow up. I can't imagine anyone ever suggesting they'd even try looking into this unless they're using DJ software only to prevent lag

Well sounded like a cool idea. Whatever.

Actually, I foresee both USB-C and Lightening eventually going away. As Bluetooth and other wireless technologies evolve and improve, the need for physically connecting your phone to ANYTHING will be a thing of the past.
