I just bought an external DAC/amp (FiiO Kunlun e18) for my current Note 4. Is there a way I can use this with the note 7 with an USB C to USB OTG adapter? Also, with the USB C out can you hook up HDMI?
Thanks!

I have a USB DAC (dragon fly) and a USB C otg cable delivering tomorrow. I can test it out with my current HTC 10 and let you know.

Received my DAC and Anker USB-C to USB 3.1 Adapter today. It works fine with HTC 10. Assume it should work with Note 7 as well. Will test out once i receive my Note 7. Can't wait!!

Were you able to use spotify or another 3rd party streaming service with full control of audio output with the dragonfly and your HTC 10? Just out of curiosity why did you get a dragonfly with your HTC 10? I have the 10 as well and it seems to drive my current sony iem's and headphones with room to spare. I was however looking at the dragonfly red in possibly purchasing the senn hd 700's as I wasn't sure there would be enough power for those.

Also, the reason I ask about 3rd party streaming service (and what you may want to take note of) is that the reviews of the dragonfly red on amazon complain of the s7 and s7 edge having a volume limitation that can't be overcome (at this point) and causes low volume with the red and either of those phone. It looks like the note 7 will be the same platform as the s7 edge, so that may be of concern. Also, what kind of usb c OTG cable worked for you?

There is a volume limitation. It will be interesting to see if it exists on the Note 7 as well because Samsung revamped their OS implementation somewhat as well as changed to USB 3.0. There have to be some differences between the Note 7 and he S7 series...I hope. Let's see what happens. Picking up my phone tomorrow :)

Results? I just got the note 7 and am thinking about picking up a dragonfly black.

Unfortunately the same problem exists. Sorry I did not see this post earlier. The move to USB-C made no difference to this issue.

Why the HD700's?
