USB-C to HDMI adapter for Galaxy A8 2018 (SM-A30F)?

For my previous Samsung phones I used to have a MicroUSB to HDMI adapter so I could hook my phone up to a monitor or TV, however my A8 2018 (SM-A30F) is equipped with a USB-C port.

I found the EE-HG950DBEGWW, but the (pretty brief) description does not explicitly list my model as compatible. It also does not explicitly list it as NOT compatible (the list is pretty short and my phone is now a year old).

So, I'm wondering if perhaps someone has tried this one on either the SM-A30F or a similar, non listed phone?

There doesn't appear to be any video on the USB connector in the A8. You'll have to use something like a Chromecast instead.

That's a pity. Was hoping to have a minimalist way of watching videos on a TV while visiting friends or abroad, but carrying around a chromecast device and having to configure it for (hotel) wifi is not quite it. Curious by the way, what tool did you use to check what the A8 outputs on its USB connector?

Apparently the kernel at least supports it, would need suitable custom firmware though.

Dex is much more than just HDMI output however, isn't it? I'd like to just be able to output video over HDMI (mirrored or otherwise), using something I can carry in my pocket, no need to use my phone as a control surface.

It doesn't work.because samsung galaxy a8 plus port is micro USB instead of Type-C .
