I downloaded update 3.1

and tried to plug my Mouse USB , through a small Female-Female conversion ... but Xoom did not recognize the mouse and the mouse never powered...

Any assistance?

Thanks

I think all the drivers for the mouse where supposed to be added as Bluetooth protocols not via USB so that may be it and I doubt that the battery on the Xoom has enough left over to power USB peripherals they are all probably going to have to be self powering.

but What I read is that it will support the normal USB mouse, furthermore, I saw today a review on Youtube for some one used USB mouse with him?!!!!!

Are using a USB org cable? When I plug a mouse in to my cable, it works. I made mine from a micro USB as you can't find them.

Which org cable? do you mean original cable?
and how you connect the normal USB mouse with it?

sorry xoom auto corrected otg. Otg is a host cable. The cable has pin 5 grounded as the xoom does not do it like a computer would. You can buy the camera connection kit from Motorola or find one in China.

can you upload a photo of the cable you mean?

I can't make one as I'm not an experiment on this work....

Is there any other solution... I don't know why Xoom can't accept bot cables OTG and normal one which is mostly in the market?

It does accept both. The normal one you plug in to your computer, the computer grounds terminal internally to act as a host. When you plug the original cable in to xoom it is waiting on the host to tell it what to do. If you have a host cable plugged in to your xoom, it will control what ever is on the other end.

Go to either Amazon.com or ebay.com and search on "OTG cable". You'll be presented with a number of solutions. My choice was a small, roughly 3 to 4 inch cable with a male microUSB on one side and a standard female USB on the other.

But any version goes for less than about $3.

Could you post a link to the cable you bought?
