USB OGT has stopped working!!!!

Has this happened to anyone else? I've tried 3 different USB OTG cables or adapters with different memory media, and the phone connects to the media just fine, I can even browse the connected media for a few seconds, but within 10 seconds to a minute the phone just stops sending power to the OTG connected media and no longer interacts with the media. I've tried rebooting my phone and disabling Tasker. Nothing seems to get it sustain a connection for more than about 45-50 seconds.

I'm on 7.1.1, not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.
