use bluetooth keyboard for games?

I have a Shield tablet and got a nice folio keyboard case for it. Typing and web use is just great. Now, I find it hard to utilise it for gaming on the device. I tried usb/bt joystick center, which just doesn't find my device and needs root. I won't root it as it will void my warranty. I tried Tincore keymapper but that gave me no results either. How would I use my bt keyboard in games? If I could just access nvidia's gamepad mapper outside the controller..
