use of note 5 with 3g gear s2

may i ask a question about the 3 g version of the gear s2 as it relates to the note 5
the 3 g version has it own 'phone number"
can i set up my samsung note 5 such that if a call or text comes to my note 5 it will alert me and i will be able to receive it on my 3g watch even if the watch and phone are miles apart

The only way you can set this is to forward your SMS to your number on the watch, not sure how easy that will be to distinguish?

I have the Gear S, and it's possible to have phone calls and texts sent to the Note 5 show up on the Gear S if the forwarding option is setup. I have not used the Gear S enough remotely to know if replies to SMS show up as the Gear S number, or the Note 5's. Maybe it works differently on the Gear S2, though.
