Used RAM?

Just want to check smothing. When I have all apps turned off on my Nexus 7. And go settings>apps>running, bar tells me that I am using around 600mb of ram. Few background processes are on (facebook, accuweather, keyboard, launcher...).
Just wander is this ok, or it is some kind of problem.
My device is 10 days old and this RAM thing is same from begining. Thank you all...

its fine. that used memory are cached apps stored in RAM for faster responses.

My Nexus S has only 512 mb ram and it uses 400 Mb RAM.

JB is smart and will release memory when needed.

An unused memory is wasted memory.

Ah didn't knkw that. I thought that if I use only 10% of RAM that it will be faster. So it is ok than? Great...so these app killer apps and stuff is just a waste of time?

yup those task killers just kill the app and clear the memory.

but the next time you open the same app it will be a bit slower the first time and then when it is cached in memory it will be faster the next time you open it.

let Android handle the memory

App killers are a waste yes.

Just like on a computer free ram is wasted ram.

Benchmarks are worthless as each phones totally different even amongst similar models the only thing they are good for is gauging performance between different Roms on your phone. Im not talking other people with the same phone. Your phone only.
