Using a music file as my ringtone Galaxy S8+

Hi, I'm trying to use a music file as my ringtone but somehow it's not working out. I have gone to the RIngtone option and scrolled all the way down which gave me the option + from phone.
I've chosen Dropbox (I've already downloaded the file beforehand) and chose the music file I wanted. Afterwards a box appeared in which it looks like my file is being chosen. However, the box would just disappeared but the default ringtone is still chosen. Does anybody have the same problem? What went wrong?

I used the My Files app and moved the music file over to the Ringtones folder. Then when I went to choose the music file, it was listed in the Ringtone list w/o having to add it.

I use a app called coustom ring tones it applies my ring tone to phone and watch I use the same sound for both
