You can do it, but pretty sure you forfeit the mail in rebate.
I have done it half a dozen times and always gotten rebate.You 100% will forfeit the rebate.
The $10 charge goes to the line that the phone is on only. It needs that charge to activate the phone. If you move the phone to another line, the original $10 is off but a new $10 charge goes to the new line.I'm planning to do this (use the upgrade eligibility of one line to get a new phone which I plan to activate on another line).
The new phone would be my first 4G phone.
But I wonder: Is the $10 4G surcharge going to be applied to the eligible line, or will it just be applied to my non-eligible line when I attempt to activate the phone on that line?
I don't really want to pay one $10/month charge--I would hate to be stuck with two!
