Anyone using blackberry work email app? My company uses the app for corporate emails but seems like the essential phone is not certified to be used by blackberry. Not sure when it'll be certified either... bummer need to return the phone...

I think there was a thread here on Android Central on how to download blackberry apps. I think it's an app you needed to download from xda developers that let you download and use any BlackBerry app you wanted.

@crav4speed BlackBerry Work is a business-only communication app that gets installed via MDM and works only on certified devices. It's not the same as the apps that BlackBerry offers to the public.

I am using blackberry work on the Essential phone without issues. I never even checked if it was certified, just installed when I got the phone.

Yes, you're correct. I just went to the play store, searched for BlackBerry Work, downloaded and installed without a problem on my Essential. It asked for email and access code so I got stuck there and couldn't continue.

Seems like for some reason it won't work on the essential phone. Says it's not certified..

The only issue is that this phone does not come up on the dropdown option for the available android devices I can use blackberry work on. I'm thinking I can just say it's a Samsung and be done with it
