Using my A10 world wide.

I am not a big mobile user and that's why I bought this phone only to discover its got a regional lock on it but was told if I phone a UK land line for 5 minutes or more this will remove the lock and then should be able to use the phone anywhere in the world. Is this correct.?

Welcome to Android Central! I've never heard of that solution before. Where did you get the phone from? What's the exact model number, and which carrier are you trying to use?
