Using Odin, stuck at the FACTORYFS flash

Ok, so I have read through countless threads at countless websites. My wife's phone was previously at the DL30 froyo leak and she was having some issues with it not leaving airplane mode. I did a wipe and got it working again but I figured since I was at the computer already, I would flash the newest EB01 build using odin. I ALWAYS get stuck at the FACTORYFS flash. I have left it alone for a long time too. 30+ minutes and nothing has changed. I have tried all the USB ports on my laptop (only computer I have), I've re-downloaded odin, the samsung drivers, the DI01 tar file, everything suggested everywhere. I never flashed voodoo anything on her phone prior to this. I am sure I used the PDA button, not the phone button. I've tried re-partitioning with the PIT file. Nothing works.

I have the battery out the whole time. I've opened odin with administrator privileges, and in compatibility mode. Please, someone, help me get her phone working again. I just want to get back to stock, unrooted.

almost sounds like you may have flashed a voodoo kernal on it. try loading the red CWM via odin, and disabling the voodoo lagfix, then try flashing EB01 agian.

afaik....havent messed with voodoo at all, so i could be completly wrong. but it shouldnt take longer then 10min to test it, if your willing to give it a shot.

Alright, got to red recovery and it shows voodoo as disabled. Flashing still hangs at FACTORYFS. Also, the screen went blank. Lit up, but blank...

dont know if its the problem but, did you disable any running antivirus program?

he means on the PC....glad he thought of that. especially if its norton or mcafee, disable them untill you restart your computer while you flash your ODIN stuff.

Those are the exact instructions I have used. I'm going to try to download that file and see if it is a bad tar that is causing my problems.

So, I have read everywhere that if you can get into download mode, you can save it. Is that true? I don't know what my wife will do to me if this thing is FUBAR.

The new tar file did the same thing; hangs at factoryfs... Gonna try again with different ports... using stock usb cable btw.

yeah, if your in DL mode, then all should be salvageable. you might also check the settings on the laptop and change your USB from hispeed, to fullspeedd (or whatever the settings are, its been awhile) and just in case, make sure the laptop is on AC power, and change your power settings to max. that should keep the USB from being underpowered.

Is your laptop plugged in? That will make a difference with ODIN. ODIN really doesn't like laptops

man, there has got to be something that we are missing.....are you running vista??
