Hi all,

Just picked up my note tablet today and loving it thus far. My question is how do i use my s pen to handwrite web addresses instead of typing it in? Cant figure it out for the life of me! Nothing in settings...

Open any document that requires input. Long press the key on the keyboard that is just left of the space bar.It will be displaying a T with a pen or the Setting icon. Then, set it to handwriting and it will be your default input method until you change it.

Quick dash to the right is space. Quick dash to the left is backspace.Backwards L from upper right to lower left is return.

Thank you! (As I write this using the S-Pen)

PS Is there a way to set it to autospace by any chance?

It takes a bit of practice, but I found if I write a word at a time and pause until it translates the word into typed text and start writing again, it inserts the space. The trick is to find the rhythm. If you pause mid word, or it puts up a letter at a time it won't work that way. I didn't realize it and at first I wrote and used the little space bar key to insert a space but when I started getting two spaces I realized what was happening and was able to adjust my speed to take advantage of it. Somewhere I saw a setting to change the speed of handwriting recognition but I don't remember where I saw it. If you want to use it a lot, try changing your speed of writing to see how it works, if it goes too fast or too slow to be comfortable, maybe you can find that setting and adjust it to suit. I think our Notes can do so much more than we realize. I've learned how to do a lot and still feel like I've just scratched the surface.

grats on your new aquisition. Got mine Monday night. LOVE IT! I am barely scratching the surface on how to use this but hope you are having as much fun with yours as I am with mine.

I really appreciate knowing the backspace trick! Are there any other hand writing/printing tricks you'd care to share??? Is this written up somewhere?

I have been trying to figure out how to tab over. I take notes in outline form and have been using the space bar. I have figured out how to create a bullet just need a tab.

I don't know if it is written anywhere. Those motions are holdovers from older handwriting recognition programs.

•Ok, what's the easy way to make a bullet? I have to make a dot and choose it from the predictive text ribbon.

If you want to have it translate what you write as quickly as you write it, you may want to see if GooglePlay offers a Graffiti program for your tablet. I've got the SG Note (phone) and use my finger or the S-Pen and Graffiti as my sole input method and can absolutely fly writing with it, with absolutely no delay at any point - no waiting for a translation, just writing.

l just draw a nice big dot then write my note and it comes out as a bullet.→?← Its Seems to be all about the height level compared to the rest of your writing . Cursive works very well also and mine looks like chicken scratch to begin with. I cant believe it recognizes it all. :p

Google play has it for the Note 10.1 if your talking about the app that uses the old Palm style input method. I hasn't used that for years , not since my PDA days. Do you still have to use the Palm style of alphabet or will it recognize regular writing?

So are you using Polaris Office or Snote. Polaris office has a very extensive settings menu for all sorts of bullets and outline forms but I haven't played much with it. I did find free drawing so I could add handwritten notes to text. I wanted to do that the other day and couldn't figure out how. I had no idea the plus sign meant more features and not new document in P Office! Are you writing by hand and getting it to tab???
