Hi,

This new marshmellow update is horrid. If adopting SD as internal storage then the phone becomes laggy and unusable, apps freeze, hang. Contacted motorola who said it is a known issue and will be resolved in 6.0.1? Using the phone with SD as portable storage is fine, but with marshmellow you can no longer move apps to the SD card... So internal memory is full pretty quickly. Is this just me that has this problem?

I am using a genuine SanDisk UHS 1 card which should be more than adequate?

I have a Samsung Evo UHS-1 card. It works fine. Perhaps a defective card?

First I have heard of this "known issue"... there are some usage problems with adopted memory, but not performance problems to my knowledge. I used a Samsung UHS-I card and had no issues with performance, but I have since gone back to having be external storage.

And it's not just you, with Marshmallow, when the SD card is setup as portable (external) storage, it is true that you cannot have any applications moved to the SD card. This is by design.

Is a UHS-1 card preferred?
Yes... Anything slower doesn't have the necessary write speeds and will show significant decrease in performance. UHS3 is not fully supported, but it will make an improvement in write speeds over UHS1 showing some improvements.

"Class" rated cards, except Class10 with a simultaneous UHS1 rating, are considered too slow for use as internal storage.

It's now performing slow with card as external. It's slower than my old moto g. Maybe it's because it's the 1gb ram version??

Card maybe defective or fake.

Use the app SD Insight to confirm if it is genuine. Where did you buy the sd card?

Sounds like it's time to factory reset and start clean, and no, the 1GB version is not slow... it might be a little slower at some things than the 2GB version, but it isn't slow by any means.

SanDisk 32gb uhs1 from an eBay powerseller. Comes up with the sandisk logo and 31gb in that insight app. Seems genuine??
