I'm an at&t customer using a t-mob branded nexus one. How does the lack of 3G affect performance on the nexus one? I know it might help the battery life. Will i be able to use the navigation and receive a call while using it? My use will prob be confined to web surfing, texting, email, & some navigation.

Thanks in advance

On EDGE, you won't be able to pull data while on a call. I believe that Google Maps/Navigation pre-fetches map data if you're currently on a route, since EVDO (3G on Sprint and Verizon) has that same limitation and no one appears to be bothered by it.

I would recommend getting a 3g device...I would never rely on an edge connection to do anything but send a text or a quick text-onlybl email. You need to be over 3g to do data/voice at the same time
