Using the Nexus 7 as an (almost) daily driver

I have to try that. Any particular SMS app you like? Does it futz up the SMS threads on the phone when you do that?

Tablet talk..... I only had one instance when it messed up all the threads on my phone, but that's when I hadn't checked it in a long time. The only other thing is it won't show the other person's messages on the messaging client on the phone, but will on the tablet.

Mine is mounted on dash as carputer with my mifi. Spotify, maps with real timetraffic, navigation, email, etc. = daily driver

+1

Me too!!! Love it!!! Much better than any head unit or nav. I have sling also so its a tv. My buddy's can't get over how cool and functional it is.

My N7 replaced my laptop for more convenient media entertainment experience. Also my N7 is my e-reader for books and comics. The laptop to be primarily used for school to type up papers.

I have been surprised by how much I use my Nexus 7. As it was, I have pretty much ditched my laptop or iMac for personal use, using whichever android phone I currently have. About the only thing I use a computer for personal use is to get pictures off our cameras. That said, I didn't use my Galaxy 10.1 or our iPad much because they were too big to type on comfortably for me.

I now use the 7 as my main device when home, only picking up my phone for calls and text messages. In portrait, the keyboard is perfect for two thumb typing and the device is light enough not make typing tiring.

I use my N7 instead of my phone and laptop and sometimes kindle, although prefer my actual kindle as its lighter. My phone feels small and old fashioned, my laptop feels clunky and OTT for most things now, just love my Nexus!

No it doesn't. It shows you how to set it up. And its free tablet talk cost. I like it. So it works good enough for me not to text on my phone

LOOKS LIKE OUR DREAM 7" DEVICE MAYBE HAPPENING, I HOPE SPRINT VERSION. With 7" phone won't need to have 2 devices and pay $30 per month for hotspot to feed a tablet. That is $360 savings per year. Also bouncing between two devices wastes time keeping your apps. organized and updated. Google search Galaxy Note 7 to see details Part # mentioned is N5100.

I take mine everywhere I go to. I have wifi at my 2nd job and at my regular job I can still read (of break of course).....Haven't really figured out the text thing other than Google+ hangouts.

What is a mifi hotspot? *Edit* Nevermind.....google is my friend heh.......still not sure about this text thing though.

Did you ever get your texting from tablet solved? I use Mighty Text from Google Play FREE. I downloaded tablet version to Nexus 7, Phone version to my SG3 and use their website or Chrome extension on my computers. I no get to text from N7 and PC. If on the PC it shows texts that come in as well at least when I have the Chrome extension going.

Hope that helps

I mine strictly at home. I have my N4 when I'm out and about. When I get home, I put the phone down and pick up the N7. If I were to go on a trip, I would definitely bring the N7 but other than that, it stays at home.
