Using the speech to text microphone daily

Hi everyone when you use speech to text I'm currently using the Google keyboard I noticed that if I start typing something in between the microphone deactivates doesn't stay on like I can continuously use on Google Pixel ..do you have the same experience?

I know it's minor but this is the only one that does that even my iPhone I could type in the mic stays on although Siri never understands anything lol
