Using Voice and Data

Hi I recently switched from Blackberry to Samsung GALAXY s3, with my Blackberry Curve i could make calls and browse internet together, somehow I am not able to do this with my Galaxy S3, is there something i need to switch on, my local network is 4G. My BB Curve was not 4g and was still getting it done. Thanks for the help
