Opening disclaimer: Please don't haze me for posing this newb question...remember, we all have to start somewhere and I'm at that starting point of trying to learn all this cool stuff with Android.
That said, I'm looking for some newb guidance on using Xionia CWMA (or any recovery really) in my continuing quest to learn. I've been using adb to learn more on rooting; doing so I've successfully rooted a Motorola Droid Devour and I've successfully rooted my Optimus S (ZVD) using the manual procedures found in the [How-To] Rooting LS670ZVD/ZVH (100% automated, no revert needed) thread. Yes, there's the automated script, but I'm a believer in trying to learn the concept/process before letting something doing it for me...like knowing math before using a calculator. Anyway, I digress...the step by step instructions on how to root is what made it possible for a newb like me to successfully root two phones with no issues. What I'm looking for now is something similar...a step by step on how to use the recovery, in this case Xionia since that's what was installed on my Optimus S.
I've been trolling as many threads as I can on this forum and others looking for some sort of tutorial on using recoveries, but I'm missing something. Everything I've found that's of a "how-to" nature seems to start at a level of assumption/experience/knowledge beyond what a newb that's at the start of the learning process has.
So, to end my ranting thread starter, my humble request: Does anyone know of a newb friendly step by step guide on using the recovery (Xionia)?
