V10 and free 200GB card, spare battery, and charging cradle (Update: Some Arriving!)

Just got my promo pack today... Took about 4 weeks after submitting proof of purchase. Very nice stuff they gave away, you all will love it. 200GB card? Sweet! Nice battery cradle to hold extra battery, just plug charger into it to charge it... Very cool... Thanks LG.... Oh... The phone is BAD *** too! Love it!

I'm awaiting my shipping notice patiently. So here's the question, who is carrying the blue ones? The say they come in blue, but all T-Mo had when I got mine was black. I've not seen anyone carrying the blue.

Tmo only got black . I thought att had one shade of blue and vzw has white and black, but the other colors are not available in the states yet to my knowledge.

Does anyone know if that 200gb is a standard card? That is, should I be able to expect it to work in other devices, or is there something about it that only works well with LG?

The physical microSD card says "For LG Mobile" on it. And the package says "Optimized for mobile imaging, Inside & Out". Go back and look at the screenshots that people have been posting (mine is page 7) for a visual.

Yes, I saw that, but I don't know what that means and when I looked at their website last night, the press release SanDisk originally made implied that "optimized" was more a reference to the phone, not the card. The rest seemed to be marketing. I cannot find any clear evidence of a difference that would make the cards non-functional in other devices and phones.

Someone in another thread said basically, no difference, so I threw caution to the winds and bought one off of eBay. Apparently, there are quite a few people who are happier to monetize the free card. There are a ton of deals on eBay at amazing prices. For $80, I'll try it. If it turns out not to work in a Note 4, I'll relist it and sell it myself! ;)

I'm willing to make a bet that this card will only work in a very limited number of phones (the LG v10 included, of course). I haven't heard of any other phones that will run a 200GB card.

That could be why these cards say for LG Mobile, because maybe they are the only phones that can run this card to this point. That all being said, yes, my opinion is that these cards will be just like other SD XCs.

Got mine 2 days ago. Haven't tried it another phone. But any way you look at it, having that much space is at your disposal Is nice. I know they fail at times, but I've been pretty fortunate to not have it happen. I like having the extra battery. Good stuff LG

Will report back next week. :)

It just looks like a SDXC--which is the same format (in theory--words we always use!) as other high capacity cards. Will be the guinea pig and let everyone know.

It says for for LG Mobile because of the promotion deal LG has with SanDisk. Also SanDisk has a new initiative they call "Epic" they're trying to push. There are certain standards the phone must meet in order to be considered "Epic" certified. LG V10 is being considered one of the first phones certified for this and thus a promotion deal is created with perfect timing. Putting this deal together is awesome advertising for both LG and SanDisk. Hell, it made me want to run out and get a V10. Especially when they were including the extras. Don't regret it one bit. Love this phone. Here is more information. You may need to scroll down a bit.

I wondering about that too. I think most phones only support up to 128gb. May be thats why they say for lg mobile. Mine is coming fri.

Most phones SAY they only support 128gb, because at the time they were made there were no larger MicroSD cards. We saw this happen as well when cards increased from 64gb to 128gb and people were quoting spec sheets saying "supports up to 64gb" and wondering if the 128gb would work. Both 64 and 128 cards are merely SDXC. The spec sheets were worded that way because nothing else yet existed and manufacturers didn't want to be accused of misleading people as to the total storage they could acquire.

It may well be that there is something different going on here---but if it's just an SDXC card, they should have a certain standardized industry protocol and be widely supported. Absent some new protocol for 200gb that I haven't heard of (again, possible), I'm hopeful. ;)

I should note here that LG has already come out and stated that the V10 will support MicroSD up to 2TB!

Re: V10 and free 200GB card, spare battery, and charging cradle

Just came in:
Pro: It was free
186 gig MicroSD is pretty big and should last into the foreseeable future. I never figured to fill my 64gig one.
Cons:
1) Big Disappointment that the cradle is not Quick Charge 2, just USB 2mA. So it won't charge your extra battery as fast as the phone.
2) The 200 gig SD is really only 186gigs, that kinda (bit vs byte) math was okay for 10 meg HD in the '80s but a 15 gig loss? Once again it's free and I never figured to use more that the 64 gig card I had already.

Overall, I'm happy, if only my V10 screen hadn't cracked after two weeks....

lol. ^this
186GB thats awesome of course there is formatting space to be taken out. Plus really do you need to make sure both your phone charges the phone fast AND your extra battery? as if you are gonna need both batteries in the matter of 30-60 mins....The deal is a Pro all around! It is really what sold me the phone.
