V20 Reviews

They still state that what they have is not a final retail unit though.

That is one of the only two reviews out there and both with unlocked non carrier devices. Not looking good for a release soon.

I agree it isn't the final unit but my comment was there must not be an embargo on posting about it since they are. If there was one you wouldn't see any type of review on it.

True I watched the video all the way through though and I'm glad to know that he at least received two different versions as he said the jittery video was gone with the version he had. So glad to hear that. I just have to wait on LG now. This has me excited.

Not sure if this review is posted here anywhere, but pretty cool. Interesting what he says at start about changes still coming to US variant.

I'm super impressed and thankful that the Steady Record 2.0 is actually alot better than what I've seen in a lot of early hands on videos. The footage looks so good now. I don't like that he said first in Korea and then around the world though. If LG really plans on releasing this phone in the US in October I might be gone by then for the simple fact of how terrible they handled this launch.

My advice to anyone who really wants this phone and has something that works right now is to just wait it out.
I want it sooner than later but there is nothing out there or being released soon that interests me. I want the features this phone has and won't settle for anything else. I don't want an IPhone even though it does have two cameras. I don't want a Droid Z force because I don't need bulky mods or a plastic screen. I don't want a Note 7 or any variation of Cheesewiz. I don't want a pixel phone....would rather have a Nexus 6P. I don't need wireless charging or water proofing.

Sadly true. As much as I hate LG for this I don't really want anything else.😒

That's the boat I'm in. Just using this 5X till I can get my hands on the V20

I can wait if I have to.....let them get it right instead of fast. Using the G5 right now and its a rocket. I really don't need the V20 but I want it.
I'm digging the thought of a larger dual screen, DAC, 64GB, and change in the selfie cam. Nougat first will be a cool bonus.

The press units should be the review devices, so MAYBE the ball is starting to roll. Not sure if up or down hill though.

Added: Nah, the ball is rolling up hill. The comments in the videos are these are not final review versions. LG seems detached from communication 101 to consumers.

The V10 didn't have a notification LED so I imagine the V20 won't either. It doesn't bother me anyway as the 2nd screen is more useful for notifications.

If I do get this phone, no LED will be very sad... But at least, as you say, there is that second screen.

Given the complete lack of actual review units, seems Oct 21 might be pathetically legit.

Dear LG, why do we have to be the last to know?lol After all this slow rolling and alleged release date why don't they just come out and confirm something and pricing. This whole launch really makes me want to distance myself from LG even though I really want the V20. I just don't like when companies do things like this. I don't care if I like LG or not. I'm looking for every excuse to get something else and if I come up with enough reasons I will certainly move on before the V20 hits the market. Launches like this(at least not exclusive though) are why I left Windows Phone. How do you let your competition handle an entire recall and not have ANY solid news for us after two weeks?

Weaker contrast though is the sign of a skimpy display. The battery life is half the Note 7 for video playback and at least 30% less for everything else. The display appears to be a power killer, based on the video playback number.

The heat comment surprises me, since uses the 820 and non sealed design. Would expect it to be even better than the Note 7, but the LCD also generates more heat.

LCD screens are often battery hogs. The MXPE has a very nice LCD screen, but it sucks battery.

On top of that, the MXPE has the 808 which has a very power hungry, hot running GPU. Great device for light to mid users- but low SOT for heavier users.
