I currently have the S7 edge. I picked it up in Sept when I was forced to return the Note 7. Anyway, LG sells the unlocked one for example for $800 you can get from places like BH and Amazon directly sells it as well now.

What would you say about the V20 compared to the Edge? An upgrade? The Edge has water resistance, AMOLED screen, SD card slot as well.

The V20 is LCD and not water resistant but has removable battery, flat screen and IR blaster. I asked on the Note 7 and S7 edge forum for user opinions and most say S7 edge to stick with until the S8 edge or the Note 8 comes out. Just wondering from the V20 users which phone you think is better?

I might go far it if the price drops a bit but I bought an S7 back in March, Note 7 in Aug and S7 edge to replace the Note back in Sept. A lot of phones in 7 months time.

I returned my S7 edge that I bought to replace my Note 7. I liked it well enough, but I'm enjoying the V20 more. I still have my 5.7 inch display that, while not as nice as the Samsung display, it's no slouch. The audio this thing puts out is just ridiculous. The camera is fine with me. And I have an IR blaster again! The V20 will be my phone until the next Note comes out.

It all depends on what you're really looking for as they both have their strengths and weaknesses. The s7 edge has the better camera and screen, which are two big factors on a phone. I'm currently using the v20 because I really missed having an ir blaster and removable battery. The v20 is also quite a bit more fluid than the s7e.

If the v20 had a Samsung amoled screen and the camera from the s7e I'd probably keep it for 3 years lol.

The V20 is sick beans and it has a removable battery. But I think I'd go with the Edge if I had the choice. I think. It's a difficult choice! But I think I'd like to steer clear of LG when I upgrade (I'm using an LG product now), so that is one reason for my (obviously biased) choice.

I have both pros and cons with both devices the LG v20 runs a little smoother. LCD vs Amoled the Amoled wins. I have the beta 7.0 on s7 edge it's lightning fast most of the stutters I had are gone now. Listening to music the LG v20 wins by a long shot. Camera quality both have great cameras if you want Manuel controls go with LG v20 if you want simple to use great auto pictures s7 edge wins

What about the iPhone 7 Plus versus the V20? Going from Android to IOS is that a big downgrade?

I just upgraded from the S5. I decided to not go with S7 Edge because....

1. Non removable battery

2. IPS over amoled. I experienced screen burn on my s5.

3. It's flat. I didn't like the curved edges on the edge.

4. Same speed, same specs hardware wise almost. A few differences but the V20 has less lag compared to the S7 Edge from my friends and playing with it in store.

5. Didn't care if it was waterproof. I'm not going scuba diving with it like my one friend did.

6. Honestly after having this V20, it's going to be hard to get Samsung to get me to come back to their phones. After the Note 7 fiasco which I was going to buy until their recall.

Im curious as to what the S8 will bring. So far a faster Cpu and 6GB ram compared to 4. But honestly what more can they do. Removable battery and faster and more stable updates would be a game changer for me.

I came to the V20 after the 2 recalls of N7.
The V20 was only real choice. V 20 is same size as N7 , But to me, it seems bigger. The buttons are all very responsive. The fingerprint button on the back is fantastic, no need to press it, just touch....64 gig internals...Much less bloatware, LG didn't include they're own calculator, Internet, Photo Gallery & even no messaging . Google is default on most of these apps on my Sprint V20. I'm really liking the Google Messaging. Didn't really want an "older" phone like the S7's .I have had all the Notes and I am completely content with this phone. But, I will be owning a Note 8 if one is made.

I had the S7 Edge, hated the edge for multiple reasons( edge interface was useless to me and turned it off, and how it was just hard to hold comfortably) . I also had serious lag issues as well. (doing a FDR did help for a while, but it did go BACK to ATT)
The camera is great, the screen is wonderful if you like amoled.

I am super happy with the V20 with after having it the last month or so. It flies at almost everything I throw at it and has a wonderful screen. I am LOVING the V20 in comparison the S7 Edge for MY usage. I even get slightly better battery life on the V20 compared to the S7 Edge.

I've had the V20 since release and I had an S7e up until this week. The S7e was a nice device and the wireless fast charging was a luxury. The curved AMOLED screen had its positives and negatives. Negatives for me being finding a tempered glass screen protector and the higher possibility of screen burn-in. The S7e is also a pretty phone, if that matters to you.

I just love my V20s so much more. Love the big flat screen, replaceable battery, performance. More durable build. I'm more attracted to things that are built well, durable, and easy to protect than to things that are cute, so the V20 wins big over the S7e for me. Then there's the V20's great audio, not that the S7e is a slouch there. Both cameras are nice in different aspects.

They're both great devices but the V20 has more of what's important to me so I had no problem letting the S7e go.

Blue, did you finally get your money back from tmobile? I went from the n7 to the pixel twice to v20 I also have the iPhone 7 plus. I don't like the s7 edge when I had it on loan. The camera is better on the iPhone. The battery is better as well. After the note 7 the v20 seemed to be the only comparable product. The v20 is smoother and faster than the n7. I'm getting about 5 hours sot with the v20, only a little less than the note 7. I loved the n7 design but the v20 is really nice build and feels good. I miss wireless charging but the iPhone doesn't have that either. Both are great.

Yep, FINALLY got my money back from Tmobile. I was thinking about selling my S7 edge or S7 and getting the V20 or iphone and junking Samsung for awhile. The only turn off for me is no water resistance for the V20 like the iPhone 7 Plus, but other than that doesn't the V20 blow the iPhone away with bigger screen, IR blaster, removable battery and SD card slot.

It's all a matter of preference. The V20 and iPhone screens aren't that different size wise, but both look really good. The IR blaster is nice to have, as is the removable battery, but unlike my V10, I don't think I'll even need to carry a second battery with this phone. The battery life is much, much better than the V10. The camera is great, but it's real advantage is the manual controls, not point and shoot. For the latter, S7 or iPhone do better IMO. It performs really well and the LG UX is much more tolerable than previous versions. I am still using the stock launcher, where on previous LG phones I always had Nova.

It took me a while to appreciate the V20, but now I'm very happy with it.

V20 over the 7E. That curve is bad nasty stuff IMO. The 7E is 5.5" display, but only 5.2" is legible due to the curved surface.

Personal preference I suppose. But after having the V20 for about a month, I would choose this. I just couldn't being myself to get an S7E to replace my Note, there wasn't enough there to offer. I think the only place the camera on the S7 wins is in auto mode in a quick point and shoot situation and maybe low light, but that's another perspective opinion. Love the big flat screen of the V20, and as stated above the fingerprint scanner is absolutely amazing on it. I'm stoked off it. Just wish the camera glass wasn't so fragile

How would you compare the V20 to the iphone 7 plus?

BH photo and amazon itself both sell US unlocked version for the same price but BH offers more freebees with it. IS BH good to order from?

Does wifi calling work with Tmobile with the unlocked version? Usually it's verizon that has issues with unlocked phones

Iike both but if I had to pick one it would be the v20. The main difference that is an issue for me is the camera. I think the iPhone 7 plus has a better camera. The water resistance doesn't really matter to me. Ive heard the WiFi calling does not work on the unlocked version. P
I've you enjoy Android the v20 is a good option, as solid as any other phone. Doesn't lag or hang up at all. The screen may take time to get used to coming from the note or s7 edge but it's still really good. I think I'll end up giving my iPhone to my wife.
