V20 versus S7 edge. Which would you pick?

Iike both but if I had to pick one it would be the v20. The main difference that is an issue for me is the camera. I think the iPhone 7 plus has a better camera. The water resistance doesn't really matter to me. Ive heard the WiFi calling does not work on the unlocked version. P
I've you enjoy Android the v20 is a good option, as solid as any other phone. Doesn't lag or hang up at all. The screen may take time to get used to coming from the note or s7 edge but it's still really good. I think I'll end up giving my iPhone to my wife.

So the v20 is a better screen than the iphone 7?

I think you'll get different answers from different people. I think the v20 is better. It's 2k the iPhone is 1080, but display mate says the iPhone is one of the best.

Does wifi calling work with Tmobile with the unlocked version? Usually it's verizon that has issues with unlocked phones

No wi fi calling on the unlocked V20 with T-Mobile sim card. I bought the unlocked from B&H and returned it. Also, the horrible Mobile Services Manager/DT Ignite bloatware app that installs unwanted games and apps was on my unlocked after I did a factory reset on it. I posted a thread about this last week. I returned and bought the T-Mobile variant instead, which doesn't have the MSM/DT Ignite (yet, that is) and does have wifi calling.

I had owned both and stayed with the V20. Admittingly it took some time to adjust to the screen but that was about it. Aside from water resistant I can't really think of anything else that I miss.

What about the camera cracking issue?

I think the camera glass cracking is over blown. The glass over the camera didn't even break in the 1000ft drop test from the drone on you tube. I think it cracks if something presses against it that is sharp.

Despite lacking wifi, do u think the V20 unlocked is a good buy still?

If you already own the S7 Edge, I'd say keep it. But if you are within the return period, get the V20. Both are stellar devices, but the V20 is a better experience in my opinion.

I suppose. I bought mine thru Sprint. Not sure if the unlocked model is more money than a carrier model. If it is, I would get a carrier version.

I'm coming from the 6edge plus I've been doing more things with my V20 that I just didn't do with the Sammy. I bought the the V20 mainly because I like the big screen. But it has blown me away in so many areas I'm really sold on this Device.

The unlocked doesn't have wifi calling. I don't want a carrier version again especially tmobile after the note 7 fiasco if i have to return it for some reason.

Though I'd pick the Edge, I know I'd miss the ease and convenience of a removable battery.

IS the camera glass issue something I should be concerned about on the v20?

I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Only a small number of people have reported issues with the camera glass. And after selling over 200,000 units in the first week you know there's a lot of folks with the device and if camera glass breaking was a big issue, you would think there would be more reports coming in.

I know you had issues with tmobile with the note 7 issue so I understand your concern, but I would buy the tmobile version. I don't usually buy insurance for my phones but after the note 7 and the few minor reports I did pick up the insurance. I don't thinks a huge issue though.
As for the camera I just use a case and I left the plastic on the lens. I've dropped mine in my desk multiple times with no issues yet. If you don't like cases dbrand has skins that also have a piece for the camera lens.

Is the camera still breaking with the plastic over it and is the plastic intended to be taken off? Also the otterbox defender doesn't protect the camera well because it has that huge opening in the back.

From the pictures I've seen here it looks like they didn't have the plastic one the lens still. I don't have any idea if it was meant for protection but I figured it couldn't hurt. I've never been a fan of otter box cases. Too big for my taste. I'm using a ringke clear case, it's done the job.

Dude, How many times are you going to keep asking? We have said over and over again that we don't think it's a problem. The plastic protector on the glass looks like it belongs there. Mine is still there and will stay there since it doesn't affect the camera and it's probably protective.
