What's the benefit of Vaelpack? How are the benchmarks? What does "Non-Sense" actually entail?

Nonsense means sense has been removed altogether this will allow for better battery life and performance because there is no sense to bog down the system.

So what's the visual difference between that and aosp

VaelPak is a very stable ROM. After my first root, I flashed a lot of different Roms and eventually stayed with VaelPak.

NON-Sense on this ROM basically means that there are no HTC Sense Apps installed on the Rom. VaelPak does have the option to install HTC Apps. I never used any Sense widgets so using a non-sensed ROM worked for me.

Also, VaelPak has a cool app the market called VaelPak Settings. You can flash or install directly from that app.

I don't know about the benchmark. I rate the Roms I used based on how stable they are. If you want more speed you can always flash and install a new kernal and OC.

Give it a try. That is the beauty of being rooted. If you don't like it, flash a different Rom.

Good luck and have fun

It's called VaelPak Settings. It's only available on the VaelPak roms. The app contains tons of ota downloadable content. So lets say you want to flash a new kernel. Just go to the kernel section and tap whatever kernel you want and it'll automatically download and flashable the kernel for you. Theres a bunch of other stuff in there too. Can't go wrong with VaelPak

I've benchmarked Vaelpak with a lot of kernels. Always stable. The Quadrants are around the mid 1600's I've hit over 1720 with it, the MFLOPS are between 36 and 42 depending on the kernel.

Battery life is all dependant on how you use the phone and you clocking. I'm clocked at 1228/245 daily and I get about 18 hours out of my phone. Netarchy kernels work great, but Vaelek is on the Ziggy which i'm about to flash and start benchmarking.

jerzy where can i find the kernel tab in the vaelpak setting app? i am unable to find it. all i see is power, screen density, mod/patches and phone info. can you help me find it? and could anyone suggest a good kernel? i am currently running 2.6.32.15 htc-kernel@u1800-build-149

Its in the mods/patches section. Try the netarchy 4.1.9.1 bfs. Also, go to the market and search for the VaelPak settings app and make sure you have the most recent version

Hey guys just flashed it, i was wondering what kernel supports 5 point multi-touch and works great with Vael?

make sure after you flash a kernel you go into setCPU>menu>device selection>autodetect.

HELP!!!!!! rooted buddies evo with vaelpak and when i go to boot it just keeps running the vaelpak boot screen and won't boot.

yea somethings are a bit buggy. So everyone is good right now?

Ok I used netarchy kernels because i like the range of clocking i get out of them. I've been benchmarking Netarchy more-havs-smartass... I tried Ziggy but I'm going to finish my flashing and benchmarking of netarchy kernel. So far my results are listed in the link in my sig.

@blackempire - you have to download setCPU from the market. once you do that you can then overclock or underclock you phones CPU.
