Various DROID MAXX 2 Reviews

Some notes:
- Blue-ish screen, but one of the brightest screens PhoneArena has ever tested
- Lots of carrier bloatware including Verizon apps and select games
- Ample performance for basic tasks
- Camera is a noticeable improvement over previous generations but may be more saturated than pictures from the DROID TURBO 2
- Audio from recorded video a bit hissy
- Audio output as loud as the DROID TURBO 2
- Noticeable crackly tone with audio calls
- Real-word day-to-day use should get you two full days

24 hours with the Droid Maxx 2 | Pocketnow

Flat slabs are boring. They don’t “fit” in your hand. Motorola knows this and is taking advantage of the space between the screen and your palm – the space that would otherwise go to waste. Like many Motorola-made smartphones before it, the Droid Maxx 2 has a gently curved backside that feels nice in the hand. It’s hard to describe, but those who have held one of these phones knows exactly what I’m talking about.

In addition to those contours, the removable backplate is polycarbonate with an elegant pattern on the back and a soft, almost silky feel to it. It feels “right”. It feels good.

The Droid Maxx 2 “feels good” once you turn the phone on, too! The Snapdragon 615 powering the Droid Maxx 2 is an octa-core SoC running at up to 1.7GHz. This phone has powered through everything we’ve thrown at it – without hesitation or stuttering. Voice calls were good using “standard” quality and great using HD voice.
