Verizon catching on to tethering apps?

OMG!!! I freaked so HARD! There I was tethering ,and then poof! Gone! I rebooted my PC, and phone several times trying to connect, nothing. Oh snap! Here comes the man, then I remembered I took a screen shot of my toggles, and realized I toggled data off! ROFLMAO! Never mind, all is good, and VZW rulez!

What are you guys using to teether ? My plan is to root buy a tab undecided yet and hopefully wireless teether if possible. I only need to stream a few games on Sunday ticket to go while I'm away from home. I don't need nor can I afford to pay for a hotspot as I have four lines on my bill. What do you guys suggest?

I use open garden after installing Banf Sense 3.0. I didn't want the standard app, and I couldn't get wi-fi and barnacle to work on my rooted/Gingerbread android.

Why, do you work there? Otherwise I told you I called them already and they told me they do not allow any kind of tethering or wireless hotspot without a data plan. Perhaps if I signed up back when it was free they would have given me the 30 dollar a month deal and allowed me to keep unlimited data but not now.

I had $30 unlimited phone data and called in mid-July to add the $30 unlimited tethering plan. The rep I spoke with had no idea about it. I just checked my bill online. I have unlimited tethering and unlimited phone data.

Thanks. It's just that I won't even take one chance in a thousand of losing unlimited data. VZW reps I spoke to were obviously wrong but I have no reason to believe some other rep will be equally uninformed if I somehow lose unlimited data in this process.

Just to clarify this... the Mobile Hotspot feature for those of us that are grandfathered under it prior to July 7th, have to call in to activate and de-activate the $30- unlimited tethering feature.. it's not an available option online.. as i've been doing this for a bout 7 days out of the past two months now and am only billed for the time i use it.. also that averages to $1/day until you call in to de-activate it... looking at it that way it's Great for unlimited use with no caps... but for those that got their T-bolts after July 7th... I'm sorry to say.. that you are under the "Cap" of $30 - for 2gb... sorry....now those ones may be online at their verizon wireless accts but not those of us that are grandfathered...

Its not that. Its is call 4G Smartphone Mobile Hotspot or something of that nature. The promo was removed from people's accounts when the free unlimited MHS ended.

Ask for Tech Support. I have trained several of them personally regarding MHS packaging. Tell them to go into their billing system to change a feature and look for the $30 feature labelled something like 4G Smartphone Hotspot.

That's the code I gave rep to get signed up for the unlimited 4G plan. This code was given by a tech at job and as soon as I gave them the code they found the plan.
