Verizon cooking on something next week

I HONESTLY don't believe the Galaxy S II will be 4G. If it's only 3G then it's OFF my radar.

SGII is a nice little piece of hardware and all.... but if good ole' RED decides to make it's rendition 3G while other carriers (i.e. TMO) get to have a 4G SGII in their ranks, then the SGII will be dead to me and the Bionic and Prime are back on my list.

Agree no 4g and I will wait to see if the vigor and revolution 2 show up in oct like rumors have them to be.

Per the VZW web site, they list the Droid 3 as being available on that date.I am waiting to see the Bionic before I do anything, and will then wait a month or so for the first bug fixes. Then, I will probably make a decision.

Looks like Best Buy is "cooking on something" as well this week and next week. Have no idea if this is related to the Bionic, but something is a brewing. Maybe this could coincide with the Verizon plans this week?

On 8/18 VZW will offer basic phone customers a $100 gift card when they upgrade to a smartphone.
We can all save our geek-boners for the 29th.

They are rolling out 4G wherever you live and they are running a contest for the first 100 customers. They get a candybar and one of them has a golden ticket to win you a free sammy charge

And as for the GS2 variant you guys are all going to be disappointed because IF it is an LTE device (which I doubt) it will end up being at least as fat if not fatter than the Charge (thus loosing much of the appeal of the GS2 to begin with) and if it isn't, it will be super thin BUT people will complain about the lack of LTE... either way half of you will be disappointed. ...

I have first hand knowledge that it is nothing but a $100 gift card promotion. Check the OP. Jack Nicolas confirms this!

And as far as the thicknesses of an LTE GSII is concerned....who cares!!! The Charge is the thinnest LTE phone and is thin in relation to most other phones too. Even if it is as thick as the Revolution nobody will mind.
