Verizon/Ebay warranty issue

This thread just became my new favorite.

bwahahahahahah

or, it's his Google Voice number & he customized the voicemail message to say "from Verizon Wireless" so anyone inquiring about the phone would think him reputable & reliable, given that he "works" for Verizon.

i bought an Evo off Craigslist (3 months after it was released) & was able to use manufacturer warranty to get HTC to cover the cost of replacing it with a new unit.
but perhaps that's just a Sprint thing & not something Verizon/Asurion goes for.

haha he was actually a really nice guy. We worked things out and a claim is in process for a refund.

I'll be refunded $500,l so I'm just going to pay the additional $69.99 and buy a Tbolt new from Verizon, so they don't ***** anymore about where it was purchased.

Hmm, much less dramatic ending than I was expecting. Happy for you but sad at the lack of drama.

He can get in trouble with Verizon if they find out about this. He could possibly lose his job. I worked for a company that another employee was seen selling product from the company and she was fired............

I had helped my neighbor get a BB off ebay because she is young and doesn't have an ebay account. The seller was listed with Squaretrade and she only had to pay 23.00 to have the insurance. She has no deductible and if something goes wrong with the phone, if they can't repair it, they will refund the cost of the BB up to 200.00 I suggested she get the insurance because I wasn't sure what Sprint covers.........unknown to her and to me, SPRINT covers a Sprint device bought from ebay ! She had insurance on her older phone and they are letting it transfer over to the BB she bought on ebay ! But she still is keeping the insurance from ebay. If the phone is lost or stolen she will have a 100.00 deductible from Sprint., same for repair. If it breaks, no deductible from the ebay insurance to repair it and she wants to keep both insurance policies. I am impressed that Sprint covers devices bought from ebay. Too bad Verizon doesn't do this, but they don't. And because she got the insurance immediately there was an additional discount off the price.
