If the phone subsidy wasn't already built into the monthly service fee, this would simply be a regular lease/rip off type program. But since Verizon customers are still paying a subsidy in Verizon's high monthly rates, this makes this program nothing but a rip off.
At least with T-Mobile the monthly rate for service is lower, which makes it's Jump program a bit more desirable. Plus the $10 monthly fee to be in Jump covers the cost of insurance. Not sure how its network competes with Verizon's but I have friends with T-Mobile and I don't hear any complaints.
