Verizon G6 software update

Looks like Verizon finally released an update for the Verizon version of the G6. It's about time but I don't see any details about it. Should be a big update since it hasn't been updated since August. As of now my G6 is still not updated. Anyone received Verizon latest update yet?

My T-Mobile G6 has been getting regular updates. I don't know what's up with Verizon.

T-Mobile is fast with updates. The only one slower than Verizon is AT&T.

Yeah, I have been watching T-Mobile update theirs. The website at Verizon shows its been updated but it has not hit my phone yet.

Did you manually check or did Verizon push it? Nowhere to be found here.

The site it's showing an update on the 21st. Nothing on my phone yet.

Well it looks like the update got pushed back to the 28th of November. I wonder what happened?

finally got the update. October security patch and a new feature in Verizon called appflash. 950 mb update.

Isn't appflash their advertising targeting spyware? Will just disable it.

Ya, appflash is just more vzw crapware . . .
That's a shame, for as long as we waited I had hoped it was 7.1.2 or even oreo, not even the November security update . . Just got a bunch of z2Plays for our business plan, all came with Nov 1 security update

Here's hoping they're not bothering with 7.1 because Oreo is in the pipeline for the next update.

yeah 7.1 is not gonna make it to the G6, it will go to Oreo and may happen before New year lol.

Chinese New Year perhaps, but not in the next 30 days. Verizon usually sticks to updating every 3 or 4 months, and we just got one.

the G5 got Nougat pretty quick last year, I guess we shall see. I actually tried that appflash but disabled it. It doesn't do anything different than what Google can do really. Anyone else actually tried Appflash? what did you think?

I thought it was more bloatware and disabled it. Verizon has taken care of the G-series pretty well for being Verizon, I was actually half-hopeful this would be an OS upgrade.
