+1 to this. If there is something holding the release up, so be it. If people are mad now, they'll be even more upset if what they get is buggy and unfinished.

I whole heartedly agree. At this point though BB has turned this entire thing into such a cluster that it might be in VZW interest to make some sort of statement.

" X is the problem and were are working to resolve this issue a rapidly as possible to get the TB into your hands ASAP." Not that big a deal.

On the other hand there any not be a problem and Thursday moring we will all be happy playing with our new toys.

The FB manager is sick of this too. He is probably deleteing anything not slamming VZW for the TB release. LOL

Obviously There is no official release, because Verizon didn't give one. I work for VZW and we don't even know when it is coming out. Whatever. Verizon knew Best Buy was going to run the pre-order a couple weks ago, and they knew the ad was coming out this week that was going to show it. More than likely, Best Buy did those things based upon a release date given to them by VZW, which was then changed at the last minute. I think this whereVZW has really failed. Maybe it was stupid for Best Buy to take preorders on the phone, but they werent really doing anything wrong and they werent promising anything. They could take preorders on the Thunderbolt 2, that's their choice. But when the ad shows up this week saying its for sale, and Verizon has no comment? Come on. You think if Best Buy started advertising the new MacBook before it was annouced by Apple, Apple would say nothing? Actually, I guess I've just dis-proven my previous theory that Steve Jobs took over VZW as part of the iPhone deal and is personally de-railing the TB release.

Unlike Chrisy, I'm going to stick to TB. I don't like Motorola phones. My second choice would be Samsung after having been a Fascinated owner since it's release day. But I still like TB ...the deciding factor for me was the fact that fascinate's Bluetooth does not when the phone is connected to my car stereo via aux audio cable. For me that is very important since I commute 90 minutes one way to work.

Verizon also gave me the Storm 1, so I am less than sympathetic. Verizon at some point authorized BB to go and do a preorder. Someone at verizon wireless gave Best Buy the idea that they were getting the HTC thunderbolt at some point.
Verizon is aware of our interest in the phone. At this point, with all the miscommunications it is time to come out and state the phone will not be out until at least x date. We are doing this to ensure the customer gets an excellent experience from the phone etc.
Whether it truly is their fault or not the feeling out there that Verizon is letting us down and purposely keeping us in the dark and perception is reality in marketing.

I think the opposite will happen with all this flaming and rumors has just increased awareness of the Thunderbolt and will only help increase the sales.

Anyone who says they won't get the TB because Verizon hasn't given a release date will be changing their tune once the phone is released. The TB is going to a great device and there is no way people are going to continue to wait for another phone when they can't wait now.

I'm not really sure why people think Verizon owes them a released date now they will announce the date when they feel it best for products sales. None of us really know what conversation have taken place between BB and Verizon we are all just assuming. No matter what we say here it won't get us the phone any faster. I would love to have the phone now but we all just have to wait for the announcement.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I feel people may be overreacting just a bit. I'm not saying people don't have a right to be frustrated, but threatening to never buy another phone on Verizon again and switching carriers (have fun!) I think is a bit much.

I did exactly that 5 years ago, and I've never been happier. Why wouldn't someone who is frustrated switch carriers? Are you trying to say VZW is better than everyone else, or just more expensive? I think all of the others (except ATT) have way more free features than VZW and the same coverage nowadays.

And when the TB finally gets released and people realize the phone is 4G, but they don't have 4G coverage what excuse will you use then to defend VZW? I'm not trying to raise a stink, but when someone with authority (like a Mod) takes the "grass is actually poisonous on the other side of the fence" approach, it's a little much.

Really? I've had a 4G phone now with 4G coverage for almost a year. Do you? Sprint has several. Oops, I didn't realize you were a Super Mod. Sorry. My wife is trying to hold out for the TB, but her Eris is about dead.

I wasn't trying to be pro Verizon with my comment at all, I have no problem with any other carrier. I have always suggested people to go with what ever carrier is best for them. No I don't have a 4G phone and won't have 4G in my area for some time. I just think all this talk about the TB is only increasing its awareness and that's it. No need to be sorry you have every right to disagree with me.

I dont think many really care about the release date. Some yeah they do, but I think it mostly comes down to communication. all they have to say is "hey all the thunderbolt is coming we are just making sure "insert word" works.
