If facebook isn't enough you can always continue to bombard the online chat reps ... I figured out a way to always make the chat option pop up, go to the smartphone section and click any one, click add to cart and a message should pop up about shop assistant and a link or the pop up chat option always shows up ... at least that's been the case for me so far in the few attempts i've made at trying to get them to release some info

Bombarding the chat reps or phone reps or store reps is not going to make any difference. This delay is not their fault and it is not in their hands to have VZW relase the phone any sooner.
But by doing so lets Verizon know something is wrong. If we kept silent how are they to know that their paying customers, the people who keep VZW afloat, are upset? They would just keep going on as usual.
Something isn't wrong. They never announced a date. They never announced a release. Everyone assumed, listened to inside 'sources' and are getting PO'd for no reason other than their own ignorance. If you want to get upset at somebody, get upset at Droidlife and its ilk, and Best Buy, for all spreading false and misleading information.
We didn't get where we are by mistake, and we didn't get where we are because of anything Verizon did or didn't do.
Are you really that upset? Over a phone release? I want the phone too and will buy it the morning it releases. It seems like a waste of your time to post on Verizons wall, do you think they really give two s****? Not to mention it wasn't supposed to be released til March and on top of that you will want something new in 3 months anyways. So just chillax, it'll be here
And at least it's not another Nexus One for VZ deal

Unfortunately, they do have quite a number of customers that are loyal *because* of their coverage. They know this and so I'm sure that has something to do with their secrecy. They know to many people just won't or can't switch. We tried Sprint - horrible coverage. AT&T is supposed to be even worse so we are stuck with VZW whether or not we want to be. They have many of us under their thumbs because of this. I doubt they're real worried about losing to much business. Don't forget they also prolly picked up thousands w/the iPhone so their butts are covered there, too.
Let this be known now, foul language, trolling, and verbal abuse will NOT be tolerated.

This is going to be my 1st Android phone (been with iPhone at ATT for a long time now). I just wanted to know, does this Thunderbolt release rank #1 of all time anticipated or something or are the forums like this for every new Android device coming out? This is really spiraling out of control and fast... I remember the iPhone 3G was nuts, but it was organized confusion. This whole release on the other hand is simply just straight up confusion. Having said that, is it common for all this drama to occur over a android device (pre-release day)?

EXACTLY! This launch has two HUGE problems - VZW's silence and Best Buy talking nothing but HOT AIR and LIES. VZW has not given a launch date so you can't blame them for that but in my opinion if they had a brain in their head they would say SOMETHING of value.
BB's last Saturday's ad showed the TB with 3 other phones, there was no "coming soon" no "pre-order" blurb - nothing but making it appear they would begin selling the phone the following day. Saturday night (overnight hours) they put a blurb on their website for pre-orders. A little late for all the people who'd seen the print ad, now in bed and planning to get up and be at their doorstep when they opened probably w/o checking the website first because they believed the print ad.

They put info about xoom on their facebook page and pretty much no one gives a damn. lol Every other comment is about the Thunderbolt...So I gotta believe that knowing how strong the demand is...and Verizon is all about customer demand...(at least when the I*hone is involved) then they might give us some info tomorrow. They got Murdered today on facebook. The time for games is over vzw. Spit it out. Tomorrow...so I hope

I would have to guess that no is the answer. It's the way we're being pulled around like a lonely man's <aflac> by a company that hears our complaints and chooses to act like they don't exist.
Actually, they may have never announced a PUBLIC release date, but VZW definitely notified Best Buy about the phone dates.
In fact, because of the strict contract BB has with VZW, Best Buy could NOT have done anything without Verizon's permission. BB could not have run those advertisements in the papers with dates unless VZW had told Best Buy.
Best Buy was not spreading false or misleading information. They were acting on what VZW told them, following their timeline. Best Buy is getting the heat (wrongfully) right now because it seems like Best Buy is doing whatever they want and taking preorders and giving out false dates. Best Buy is but the middleman and can only do what Verizon allows them to do...they can only announce what Verizon tells them.
its their phone!!!! the actual problem or reason for delay might not be their fault but it is their phone, it is their responsibility to quell the rumors and keep customers informed. whether vzw released dates or not, their exclusive retailer did and then they commented as to sooner rather than later. its just that simple!

Thanks for posting this - I don't do much tv and when I do it's not the big networks so I don't see the commercials. Well, at least it's a new commercial.Their newest youtube video YouTube - ThunderBolt by HTC is getting some nice responses as well. I left a few comments for them myself in the youtube comments section
ignorance? you dont get it. your overlooking two critical pieces of info. they released date by proxy via the exclusive retailer BB (if you think BB just came out and said something not discussed or approved by VZW, i dont know how to help you!!!! they get and activate the phone from VZW!!!!) they also released the whole sooner rather than later statement. after those two events, they simply cannot sit completely and totally silent!

Thank you but this is the old commercial. The You Tube posted in another post is newer at least as far as I know.
