Verizon GS3 is shipping..........SOON!!

VZW support just put this out on twitter.
"If you pre-ordered, shipments will start as of July 9th."

I don't know how much more clear that can be.
Be patient guys, we're almost there.

No, they stated "The first set of pre-orders will ship by 7/9. We'll announce store release dates once we have the date. ^MSF"

shipping by 7/9 could be July 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 or 9. I don't believe I am going to get the phone before the 9th, but that is not what they stated.

No, mine was correct, Though from an earlier tweet. It is what they stated. I'll paste it here...

@TrueSaiyan21 If you pre-ordered, shipment will start as of July 9th. Have you ordered your phone yet? http://bit.ly/K6v3pl .^KH

The one you are referring to was actually sent direct to me by @VZWsupport

Gotcha. But as you can see, those 2 tweets state different things - one says they will start shipping as of the 9th, the other says that it will ship by the 9th. I can see why people are anxious, Verizon's statement leaves room for interpretation. With as many people are complaining and tweeting them everyday, you would think they would release an official statement such as "The galaxy s3 will be available in stores on X date". "The S3 pre-orders will begin to arrive on X date." Then everyone could just relax about it. Also, the fact that every other carrier has the phone in-store now makes it more frustrating for customers.

Like I said, I have already set the 9th as the day mine arrives, or gets shipped out. If it comes earlier that would be awesome but I'm not counting on much from Verizon.

Well this is essentially the home stretch. The very least we can say is that the Verizon GSIII will be in peoples hands some time next week.

Using the 2-letter word "on" would have been a much better choice then.

The word "by" was nothing more than lawyer speak which provided them the most flexibility while also minimizing what they commit to. From their point of view it was a smart word to use.

Obviously they didn't know back at the beginning of June how long they would need to test the device and load their software onto the device. They set an internal release date of no later than 7/9, but by saying "by" it gave them the flexibility to release sooner if testing was completed ahead of schedule.

It appears that they have now decided to use their entire time window for testing so they have stated the 9th stands as the release date.

Yes, so only one week left. Will be a nice birthday gift as my birthday is July 9th. I've known all along the July 9th date. But still think it is piss poor of Verizon to do this to their customers by being the last one to role this out. Have also seen no commercials promoting like there was for the Droids. Sure will be happy though when it does get here as I'm still using the Droid X.

and here is probably the reason why it is rolling out around the 9th.....

I understand WHY Verizon worded it this way but I also understand how it is being misinterpreted by the consumer. Personally I think in specific terms and saying something will ship "by" a certain date (one month before that date) is anything but specific.

So just saw the official AT&T press release. They will officially launch 7/6......so looks like vzw really didn't upset their customers much like AT&T who promised a june launch.
