Verizon has apparently gimped their Note 7.

Thanks for the info sangs. I prefer the cooler temp, and if it's just a setting I can change and not that they've forced warmer temps I'm ok with that.

The one thing verizon has taken off is samsung cloud. they removed it in favor of thier own cloud solution

nah my ATT note 7 has NO blue light on and it has a pinkish hue over it. Looks so diff compared to my brother's phone.. his is actually brighter... It has nothing to do with the carrier.. it has to do with the AMOLED screens in general.

I'm at a corporate store now to buy the wife one. I did look at the demo model, and I admit I'm surprised that the display is actually cooler than I expected. I can't say how it may or may not differ from other versions, but it was almost as cool as my G4. Definitely not what I was expecting from an AMOLED screen.

Well I'm not saying with 100 percent certainty that's what it is, just so we're clear. I just know that's what happens when I toggle the Blue Light filter on and off. It's a great addition though, the Blue Light filter. Have had it on my iPad and iPhone for a while (they call it Night Shift, or something like that) and it's very helpful when viewing the devices as your day winds down.

I think that's a different issue than what Droid Life is claiming Verizon is doing to its Note's though.

As for those with display complaints just ensure it hasn't changed to another mode on display settings by default. Usually that would be the cause.

The bias that some Android/smartphone websites show towards T-Mobile is definitely suspicious.

And I get that but them simply mentioning what is/isn't there due to a carrier is hardly enough evidence for "biased". Otherwise AC is biased against AT&T due to their excessive bloatware.. .except they aren't. They just simply talked about what they did to phones.

I have Ad Block on the Sammy browser, using Ad Block Plus. And I'm overjoyed they took away the useless RAM "management" snake oil, brought to you by the cheats at Cheetah Mobile. Can't say I'm familiar with smart settings "suggestions." I know I have smart lock for location, devices, etc. And the screen looks great, so not sure about the "warmer" issue.

All of this, yes.

- I am trying the Samsung Internet Browser (for the first time mind you), and I added the ad blocker fine. It is fast this way too, wow :-)
- My screen temperature looks nothing like that one pictured, it is much more neutral (or blue-ish). I guess they got a bad one, or one that is just off. I wonder if they bothered to ask any other VZ users if their screen is yellow-ish before blaming it on Verizon. I would bet anything VZW is NOT calibrating screen hue, come on here :-)
- Taking away RAM management is not gimping, it's actually helping by removing the silliness, YMMV
- I couldn't care less about the Settings layout. I see so many people wetting their pant over this, and I guess that's what may be important to them. Not to me however. The settings are fine, I prefer this layout to the new one.

Droid Life does tend toward the dramatic with their comments, and their reviews as well, so I am not surprised by this.

All that said, for the things that are ACTUALLY true from Droid Life (not the screen temperature, and not the ad-blocker gate), VZW should stay out of it IMO and leave the device alone. VZ did remove the Samsung Cloud also, which I am pissed about...

I don't see the warm problem on my phone and no one else has reported about it. I have seen a few reports of pink screen though. So he might have a defective one.

I don't really care about a "pure" Samsung phone, so the only thing I do care about is the removal of Samsung cloud. And that isn't even a big deal with smart switch.

The ram and device management looks like clean master and that I would consider bloat.

Samsung pay can be installed from the Google Play store. So what if it isn't pre-installed? Even better so it doesn't take up space for those who don't use it. I can understand if it couldn't be installed... But as is... Meh.

What is the tw settings menu? I am not familiar with this.

On the Note 5 Verizon removed find my mobile, write on PDF, and smart manager.
So I am not surprised that they removed features from the Note 7.

Doesn't Verizon remove Device Manager from all their Android phones? Its not on my LGV10 either.

Normal for Verizon. If there is anything on the phone that competes with one of their products than Verizon will remove it. For exa.ple Samsung Cloud competes with Verizon Cloud.

Normal for Verizon to do this.
Normal for Verizon users to defend whatever they do.
Normal for non Verizon users (like me) to thrash them.

This won't change in any foreseeable future, so if you have coverage from other carriers give them a try if not well pretty much out of luck with Verizon branded phones unless you buy iPhone or few Android unlocked phones that works in Verizon with some limitations.

I am not really defending Verizon per say, I am just defending the fact that every other carrier looks for ways to screw their customers over. There's no good guy here, not even TMO once you look past their gimmicks.

TMO removed the caller ID from Hiya feature that was supposed to be in the phone. Again, they did it to the S7/Edge variants too.

Activated Postpay Verizon LTE phones are sold unlocked. Which is a nice benefit. Are others?
