I have been to Mexico and Canada with my 6P and been unable to connect to local cellular networks. I have tried everything Verizon suggested and even tried a local Sim through Fido in Canada. Absolutely no luck. I've searched for an answer but can't find one. Any thoughts?

Soon after I got this phone I traveled to the Bahamas. Calls worked, but even after 45 mins with VZW tech support, couldn't get wireless data.

I read somewhere to put the SIM in a VZW branded phone, and have them turn international features off and on, then put the SIM back in my 6P.

Went to England, and it worked.

I can't say for sure that the SIM thing worked, or if was the carrier in the carrier in the Caribbean.

I have been to Denmark and Canada with the phone. Denmark I used a prepaid local sim ($27us for 3 gigs!!!) without problems

In Canada I had to allow roaming once the phone recognized it was in another country. A coworker had problems with his s5 that took an hour for Verizon to fix. I'll text him and see if he remembers.

One note, I tried to activate the traveler plan (or whatever verizon calls it) that let's you pay $2/day in Canada and Mexico to use your plan minutes, data, etc. I was told they couldn't do it since it is not a Verizon phone. I escalated and got them to discount am Intl plan, but still seemed dumb. Plenty of people but iPhones and bring them to Verizon...

Did you have to change any settings when you used the prepaid sim in Denmark?

In order to get VZW to work, you need to put your SIM in a VZW phone and then activate it and then out it back on the Nexus. Ive seen it a few times and it works.

When I went to Mexico, all I had to do was put in the new SIM, delete the APN, then reboot and it took a few minutes and I was good to go. I had service before I got through the border control right after you get off the plane but before you get your luggage.

I picked up a 1.5GB prepaid SIM and it worked great. Even had 4G except for when I was in the lobby of the hotel since it was in the middle and it was very spotty even on my work phone.

Hi there,
Does anyone know how I can activate the regular travel plan in Italy? I'm leaving for Europe in July. I don't have access to "travel pass" on my plan. I just need data and phone calls. I also don't want another sim. I would rather use my phone number. I called up Verizon and they said it could work, but they won't have any way of knowing until I'm on my trip.
