Verizon Launch Delayed..(rumors)

True, but it's just odd that they both haven't tweeted a single thing all day long. Especially on Leak Day...

It doesnt matter what P3Droid has to say.

My thoughts exactly. Followed him for about two weeks... more annoying than helpful. Still follow MDW though, for ROMs and such.

As for the topic, I think black Friday does sound about right.
*edit: no it doesn't

Looking back, 2.3 SDK was released Dec 6th, while the Nexus S released in the US on Dec 16th. Wonder what happened this time around?

Wonder if the leap from 2.3 to 4.0 is so big Google wanted to give devs additional time to get their apps updated with the latest API's and such.

Also, wondering if all the folks complaining about the release date (me included) have communicated with Samsung/Google/Verizon? I know I do almost every day via Twitter. If enough people do it consistently, maybe we'd get some more info on the topic.

The redesigned platform could be playing some part in the somewhat slower release, but I think Google is still polishing up ICS.
I've noticed how in every hands-on video I've seen (from the ones in Hong Kong to the stuff.tv one Cory posted today) they basically all say the phone is running an unfinished build of ICS - which implies to me that they're wrapping up development for release.

Gingerbread's changes were mostly a different UI theme (dark and flat versus silver and heavy gradients), with some system changes thrown in. Yes there were new features like SIP, etc. but they wouldn't radically affect the whole phone.

In terms of the nexus prime alone, if intending on keeping it for ~18 months, and hypothetically if an AT&T LTE nexus prime comes to exist, and if AT&T intends to do a 2x20 rel 8 LTE network if the merger does happen, which would be the better network to be on?

And is gsm competition even a factor anymore? In two years we will have the three major carriers all be LTE carriers with either gsm or CDMA only for legacy support. There may or may not be a fourth carrier still around, but it's unlikely to be an LTE carrier.

Current category 3 LTE devices are in theory capable of 100mbps down when 2x20mhz used. Now 20mhz tower can pump 150mbps per sector so the device itself is a bottleneck.
That said, if you look at cat 3 devices fcc filings, they are all tested with 10mhz dipole.
You're better off with Verizon because they could deploy 40mhz in selective markets today if they wanted using their 700mhz alone.
Even if att t-mo merger goes through, we won't be seeing any of t-mo spectrum on att lte since that transition is gonna take a few years in order to migrate existing aws users away. It's a painful process.

It's not that bad, everyone. It only makes business sense to launch a new phone every month as opposed to three new phones at once.

I believe that during the holiday season the opposite is what I would do. I would slam the market at once. The more options avalible then the more people who will buy...

Think about it -

Family walks in and wants new phones. Father is a self proclaimed technophile who wants to feel ahead of the curve despite not knowing what the curve is. He wants a big screen, fast performance and a buisness feel to it. Best choice - Nexus

The mother wants something nice, but doesn't like the raw feel of the AOSP experience. She likes the rhyme but isn't too cool on the size of the screen (my moms thoughts about it coming from the Eris). She gets a rezound.

17yo son wants to show off to his friends the edgiest phone. He doesn't care to remove the battery and the mirroring is cool to show his videos off on the big screen at parties. His first phone was a Razr and is in to that whole Retro thing. Sons phone - RAZR

Daughter is a 16 yo text-o-phile and demands a keyboard. She wants 4G to say she has it and really likes colors that pop. Coming from a sidekick she buys a Stratosphere...

That's just my thoughts. Launch all three at the same time and when people come in to buy one phone and don't particularly like it they have atleast 2 other highend 4G phones to choose from. Attract your customers with one huge ad campaign and save money not advertising them all..

Just my thoughts

Nov 28th.... GRRRR!

So many angry people over rumored dates. Must be nice to have that few worries in life to spend that much energy on something so minuscule.

Anyone else find it odd that both BMX and P3Droid have not tweeted anything today?

Spooooky.:p

I actually had lots going on today.. meetings and such so I wasnt able to really tweet.. just getting home so.. unwinding and checking the interwebs and what not.. I did see tweets from P3 today though?

You all do know that is a advertising setup schedule right?! Meaning that is what will getting upfront store signage and the like and the nexus is placed as a add-on to go along with their other Samsung products like the updated tab's and the like..

Just saying.. what vzw does is subject to change.. but they can sell it whenever they see fit as their warehouse is getting shipments in the next couple of days and its listed in their sales systems.

I say the nexus fans have an #occupyVZWstores movement..

Time for chow and walking dead (and no that is NOT an insider hint)

Wow that's awesome news. Maybe we will see a launch sooner than we all think. The next few weeks are going to be epic that's all I know

Darn. I was enjoying the spooky mystery of it all.

Oh, and p3Droid just started tweeting shortly after I posted that. So never mind...:p
