Verizon LG G2 gets hot up top

I just tried to run the Antutu benchmark on it and it rebooted @ about 10%, LOL!

The 1st two gave me errors about the phone temp being too high and this one reboots. I have tried factory resetting all of them and using only a few apps from the play store.

Surely, you guys can see my frustration?

^ Just downloaded the Antutu app and running it now. Currently at 57% with no issues...still running.

OK, ran complete with not an issue. Total score 36,095. Showed the G2 at the top of the heap followed by the HTC One, S4, Note 2 etc.

Phone is only very very slightly warm, but it did eat up about 2% of the battery. Don't know what to say regarding your experience Jodiuh. Just weird.

Well, finally got it to complete after turning it off for awhile. Still gets crazy hot, but at least it finished...with a score of 20K, LOL.

Something is definitely wrong, but 611 wont send me another one as it has to come from store inventory and I REALLY don't want to go into the VZW store a FOURTH time and ask for another. It would probably be balls too.

Battery was @ 47C when I finished. But now that I know you're getting an extra 15K its makes me more apt to believe yours is barely getting warm as mine is clearly throttling big time.

I'd kill for a good G2 man, but I just don't think I wanna ask for another...grrr. :(

If I do, I would def show them your post. 35K and barely warm...dude you WON the silicon lottery...damn!

I think it's worth trying again Jodiuh. When you read how many people have not had their get hot, you can see it's not uncommon. My score is probably reflective of what almost anyone would get with their G2 running at a reasonable temp

Best of luck guy!

I ran Antutu benchmark test and got 32401 score with battery temp at 38C. Felt fairly warm. Waiting for temp to come down now! It started at about 29C before test.
I also ran stability test and the curve looked good. It got very warm to around 40C or a little higher, I was getting worried about it blowing up in my face. I am so glad it didn't get up to 47C though.

But see if Ken is truly getting 36K and you're getting 4K less AND its getting fairly warm, it's probably throttling.

I would pay $100 extra for a phone that behaved like Kens.

Jodiuh, just to make you feel a bit better, I ran two successive tests before going to bed. The first came in at about 34k, a bit lower than my first and the second, run immediately after the first, dropped to 29k. I don't know why it would have been 2k lower on the first test. Is there that kind of variability running these tests?

But, for the first time I felt the phone actually get hot after back to back tests. It brought me back to my GS3 days. But I think if I ran back to back tests with the GS3, it would have incinerated...taking me along with it. :-)

I'm honestly not sure as I've really only used Quadrant before this and that score was always the same. Antutu seems to really kick the snot out of phone tho, so perhaps it will throttle if you run it consecutively.

That said, Antutu scores the same on my Note 2 in successive tests. It gets a little warm, that's all.

Games also caused the G2 to get hot, whereas the same games on the Note 2 were barely warm.

I don't know. Between the heat, the onscreen buttons, the font bug, the backlight bug, and the camcorder bug, I'm thinking that Ill probably just wait it out for something better. Its not like I'm suffering on the Note 2. ;)
