Verizon lists out of stock vs. preorder

Just chatted with Verizon. Claims the watch is still being released this week. Really? They are notorious at bad launches.

Well I hope they are correct. Still clinging to a Friday launch lol.

Someone would make my day if they report their watch has shipped or they bought one from a verizon store.

Guy at the local store after checking into this says the launch is "On Hold", but didn't have any other details. :(

The guy at my local store said he had one in hand. I told him to verify it was the 2nd Edition one, and he said it was. I asked him to hold it for me and I would come right over and buy it. I called Verizon Customer Service and cancelled my on-line order, and right as I was about to walk out the door to go pick up my new watch, the guy from the local store called back and said he was mistaken, they don't have it after all. What?!? I just cancelled my pre-order based on what you told me. Not happy. :( Hope I can still get one soon.

It's probably the silly naming. LG Watch Urbane vs LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE. Nobody can tell the difference...sorry about your experience but clearly Verizon isn't launching this one today. Maybe they'll relaunch it in the future for $100 less? :)

Well....I bit the bullet and got the Gear S2 3g. Not going to say anything about it because this is not the forum. The only thing I will say is that when the phone is not connected via bluetooth is does connect remotely to the phone. Text messages do use my original phone number when NOT connected to the phone which is a huge plus for me. Phone calls use the watch number but I believe that will be fixed via an update from Verizon messages.

Congrats on your new purchase. I think I'm gonna wait it out for the LG. I just prefer the look to the sport version of the Gear S2 and the use of Google Now to S-voice. Mine is still saying estimated ship date of today. I wish they would update it so I could know how much longer I'll have to wait.

Ha! Samsung has got to be loving this delay, that's for sure. Especially as the holidays are near - anyone on Verizon really only has one option right now and it isn't LG's. The Gear S is an option of course, unless one wants a round watch.

Enjoy the Gear S2!

In the meantime, crickets and tumbleweed from Big Red, I guess.

Thanks. Yea the main reason I wanted the urbane was because of the synced numbers. But since this one does it I think I will keep it. Just FYI, while at verizon they told me again everything was going to be canceled and LG had no time line on when they will release. But good luck to you. I hope they release it soon for everyone. I know you like many others are very excited for the release.

That's interesting. Sounds like they hit upon a major hurdle, that's too bad. Anyone with pre-orders, keep us updated if you hear anything.

wtf is going on? Verizon, could you please tell us something? I am hoping they are just in the process up updating it to give proper information. Fingers crossed.

I emailed the corporate comms person who posted about the initial launch and pre-orders, but I don't expect him to respond since I'm not in media. Obviously whatever they know they're not going to say, but it would be nice to know if they've decided to pull the plug on the whole thing or if it's just delayed. If they cancel the launch entirely I would more strongly consider the S2 3g, though I was really interested in having a standalone device and trying Android Wear.

Another option would be to buy from AT&T on a relative or friend's plan, switch to Google Voice, and try to use that for unified calling/messaging cross-carrier (not even sure if that would work though).

Unfortunately for me, I couldn't do anything non-Android Wear since I've done all kinds of customization through AutoWear, etc. Don't want to lose all the functionality that I can do through Android Wear. Unfortunately I no longer have an Android Wear watch since I sold it a few days ago in anticipation of receiving my new LG Watch R Urbane 2nd Edition. :( Verizon is really messing me up.

Just hang in there. Gear S2 is a big step backwards compared to the original Gear S. Coming from a Gear S, this LG watch is worth the wait. Trust me.

I'm gonna give them a few more days and then I'll probably just cancel and go with the AT&T version. I'm paying 200 extra so the least they could do is get the launch right smh.

I just got off the phone with Verizon Customer Service. They said that the units were recalled by LG to have something fixed, but he really didn't know what. He said the pre-launch is cancelled and pre-orders are cancelled, and the release date is now TBD. I hope it is soon.

Thanks for that. Normally I wouldn't trust CSRs, but given others have reported similar info for awhile now and yours has some more detail to it, that sounds like it's just delayed. Now the question is do they have to send them all back to Korea to get fixed...:)

And if it's something systemic to the hardware, are the AT&T units going to have to be recalled and fixed as well? Maybe that's why LG pulled it from their web site, though in that case it's odd that AT&T is still selling them.

Yeah, now I'm wary of even buying an AT&T unit. If it's a hardware problem, I may just wait until Verizon gets it back. Don't want to get a faulty unit from AT&T. I wonder how long it'll take to fix. I would like to have it by Christmas.
