Verizon message+ or Samsung stock ...?

Hi all ..
I'm having a little hiccup with Verizon message+ ... thinking about to use stock one ..!
How is Verizon message+ .. compare to Samsung stock Text message ...?

I like messages + because of the icons it can make in place of words, you can see the other party typing, and I can use it to text from my tablet.
However, it's sometimes slow to sync messages with the tablet.

The Samsung app works with the themes and the emoticons look better than the Verizon app.

I've gone back and forth between the two but prefer the Samsung app as the emoticons are easier to use.

I've been using Message + and I really like it. However I recently had to do a factory reset on my phone and now i can't remember how to change the notification sound on it. Sorry to hijack the thread, but anyone have an idea how to change it?

In the text ... drop down menu "3 Dots" on top right ... click Customize .. change the tone .
