Verizon Moto X OEM Unlock?

Hi there,

I was looking through the developer settings on my Verizon Moto X (2014) and noticed an option called "OEM Unlock". I switched the toggle and got a warning about unlocking my bootloader. Does anyone know if this will allow you to unlock your bootloader, or is it just a mistake/setting they forgot to take out of the 5.1 update and it doesn't actually do anything?

It is a setting in Android that must be unchecked in Android 5.0+ in order to unlock the bootloader via an ADB command. It does not circumvent Verizon's restrictions on the bootloader and it doesn't unlock the bootloader, it's just a security feature that is much less relevant on Verizon phones.
