Hello everyone, does anyone know of a way to get root access on the Verizon Moto X. Mine is running Android version 4.4.4.

The only thing I desire root for is removing Verizon's ugly signal icons.

Try using this app called towelpieroot. It is a modded version of towelroot made to work with the Moto X. I used it and it worked for me, with a locked boot loader.

This did not work for me. The app just FC's all the time. I am very familiar with the normal version of Towel Root because it is the Method I used to root my LG Gpad Google Play Edition. It worked great on that. I have a feeling this Towel Pie Root is not working for my Moto X because I'm on 4.4.4.

Have you tried using the normal pie method? I know it isn't permanent, but when I used it I just did soft reboots to keep from losing root

Thanks for the reply, but the only problem I have is I don't want to void my warrantee. Rooting does not void the warrantee, but unlocking the boot loader does. And I saw on Motorola's support site that I could request the unlock code for free. They just stipulate that the warrantee will then be void. So why pay the $45?

You can't unlock a Verizon bootloader through the Moto Web site. Guaranteed root for the life of the phone is worth $45 to some, maybe not for others
