So it seems that 32GB @ $199 and 64GB @ $249 (on contract) are the pleasantly surprising release prices for this powerful and rugged phone.

Two questions:
Any word on the prices without a contract?

Do you think the price drops soon like it has with flagship Droids in the past? Especially with the newly crowded market including N6, Note 4, Z3v, and Moto X?

Re: 32GB/64GB pricing

Updated Droid Does page says $599 full retail. But it also says $24.99/mo for Edge. We know the 64GB will $26.99/mo on Edge, so I assume it will be $649 retail.

Its already the normal flagship price and cheaper than some phones at $199/$599. I'll gladly pay the $249 for the 64gb and would have paid the normal $300 that most of the droid maxx series has been prices on release. And I saw $599 I'm guessing for the 32gb. So $199/$599 and $249/$649

Re: 32GB/64GB pricing

Looks like $599.99/$649.99.

I'm def getting the 64GB version, however, I will be waiting for it to drop to $199. Whether that is black Friday or sooner, I'm willing to wait.

My guess is sooner with the recently crowded Android flagship market (N6, Z3V, Note 4, and Moto X)

Off contract pricing?

I can't find anything on off contract pricing. Anyone have that info?

Re: Off contract pricing?

Droiddoes.com has full retail listed as $599.99 for 32GB I assume 64GB would be $649.99
